Photo-G Cautionary TalesA big part of skate photography is having photos turn out nothing like you expected. Some of these are deliberate and some are dreadful.

The Photograffiti edit in the mag every month involves pics that fall into the sweet spot of a spectrum. If they’re too professional-looking, then it defeats the purpose of a home-grown, reader-submitted spread. And if they’re low-resolution and dead-on-arrival, they look terrible in print. We aim for a selection in between. Elsewhere, in the Twilight Zone of this spectrum, lies the odd, funny, and awesomely awful photos like these. And keep in mind, as always, we love this shit.

As seen in the August 2014 mag.

WORKING MAN: 9 to 5. That's the number of times we’d like to pelt this guy with eggs.

THE DOROTHY: If your feet click together mid-air, the dancing/prancing/lords-a-leaping effect often arises. There's no place like home.

OVERLAP: This clone war is a real disaster (frontside).

DAVINCI: Here’s the Mona Lisa of heels-over-head slams.

FAILURE TO LAUNCH: When your hover-board is pointing back at your junk, congrats, you’re the Rocket Man.

MYSTERY MOVE: We were told that Ryder actually landed that confounding trick. No doubts here. Does he look like someone you want to mess with?

DON’T PINCH: If she still likes you after this stinky skate date—then marry her.

DUBIOUS DOUBLES: Of course homies can share the stoke, but sharing the photo? Come on now.

BANZAI!!!: When a kamikaze fly-out connects with someone’s face, it’s a “make.”

LEFT BEHIND: No ifs, ands, or butts about it: ass shots need to take a seat.
